Trenda B. Hackett is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and former IRS agent of 15 years with over 20 years experience in the tax and accounting field. She is the founder and owner of Let's Talk About Tax, LLC a company that specializes in educating and assisting individuals and businesses in understanding and meeting their tax responsibilities.
Throughout her career with the IRS, Trenda obtained a keen knowledge and application of the complex tax laws and regulations as well as various IRS processes and procedures. During her career with the IRS she served as a Revenue Agent where she conducted audits of individual, partnership, corporation and LLC tax returns as well as payroll tax audits. She also served as the small business outreach coordinator where she conducted the small business tax workshop for new and existing business owners. She has extensive experience in assisting organizations in becoming non-pofit and secure tax-exempt status in accordance with section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Trenda has also served as a tax returns classifier where she made the decision whether to accept filed tax returns as filed or select them for audit. She has also served as a tax law assistor where she answered taxpayer's questions via phone, fax, email and mail.
Trenda has bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and Computer Information Systems and a Master of Professional Accountancy. Trenda serves as a part-time Professor of Accounting in the bachelor and master degree programs at the University of Phoenix in Dallas, TX and she has extensive experience as a tax software developer for a Fortune 500 company. Trenda has previously volunteered her services with the Fort Worth Business Assistance Center in the Project New program and she has provided tax consultation services through the conduct of tax workshops to new and existing business owners through the Small Business Development Centers in Tarrant and Collin counties.
Trenda is very passionate and on a mission to help other people excel by empowering them with the knowledge and tools they need to succeed in the world of tax and accounting. Trenda and her family currently reside in North Texas.
